Great food! Atmosphere is not ...
Great food! Atmosphere is not really my taste, but you can pretty much order a variety of things and not go wrong.
Amazing experience!
Best cafe shop I have experience. Great services especially with the beautiful girls serving you. Very good spot to relax with you love ones and friends. You can enjoy the views of their shows during the day and night!!
A nice experience!
I go to this outstanding place often because I enjoy the special atmosphere that is part of this restaurant. The staff is extremely friendly and skillful. The service is very efficient. Most important, the food they cook is exceptionally good. I have been there often and I was always joyful. The pay is decent.
Service was great!
The staff was very friendly and attentive. I can see why they have a lot of good reviews. I give this spot a thumbs up. Service is typically good. Prices are reasonable I would say.
The kitchen is very tasty the service is efficient.
I admire this restaurant! They offer delicious dishes, their menu is rich, The chief cook in that restaurant is a real pro, I love very much tasting all their dishes. The dishes are always good, the service towards the clients is good. I often eat in this place and I was never unhappy. I recommend it to all my friends.
one of the best cafe!
I was here a couple of times and wasn't disappointed. Really good prices, great coffee, great music, great work of art, people sitting and chatting, and fliers of local events, the best of all.
I like this venue a lot. there is a unique spirit.

A delicious food!
Food here is authentic and delicious. Our server kept his cool even though it was dinner rush and he was handling it alone. Loved our first time here service and food above and beyond!
Best Mexican in Culver City
This place is Fab. I love the salsa and the enchilada's suizas. They are super friendly and the prices reasonable. The atmosphere is old style but they have a great attitude. Check it out. Pros: food excellent, people nice, prices cheap Cons: old fashioned
shhhh!!!
My fiancee and I live right down the street from Gloria's and it has become our regular Friday ""date night"" locale. The food is absolutely phenomenal (she loves the tortilla soup and the fish tacos; i like it all!), the service is first rate, and the ambiance is very traditional but festive. Gloria herself is a wonderful woman, always greeting us when we arrive, offering helpful menu suggestions and answering any questions we might have. On Cinco De Mayo, they had a special celebration where we were treated to two of Gloria's specialties (the Chicken Mole and the Birria) both of which were out of this world. My only fear is that the rest of the world will find out about our ""hidden jewel"" and it will become too crowded--so please, come and enjoy but shhhhh!!!! Pros: Great Food, Great Service, Great Value
South of the Border Comfort Food
Gloria's is a good family style place. It's cozy, old school, and affordable, with some excellent El Salvador cuisine. I recommend the Carne Adobada, carnitas style pork simmered in a tangy tomato based sauce. The steak picado and the pork chops are also tasty. This is not a low fat-nouvelle-baja kind of place. Some may find it heavy or oily. The Mexican fare is also good, but it's the Salvadorean enterees and appetizers (papusas, tamales) you must try to really appreciate this well kept secret tucked in a mini mall on Venice Blvd. They serve beer and wine, no hard stuff. Muy Sabroso. Pros: Salvadorean enterees and appetizers Cons: No tequila
Salvadoran food at it's best
A cozy homey family restaurant with great Salvadoran and Mexican food, Gloria's shows what attention to business can do. Try the Salvadoran tamales, a real treat. Gloria herself goes from table to table and chats with each group, and she actually listens to what you have to say. This is a special place, a great meal and a pleasant experience. Pros: Great affordable food Cons: parking
Great Salvadoran and Mexican food...
I love this place. First of all, it has a very friendly, attentive owner in Gloria who remembers all her customer's and will actually care what you have to say. But most importantly, for a reasonable price you get excellent food. I usually order the House Special Burrito with chicken, and it is one of the best I have had anywhere. The soups are excellent as well, and the guacamole tests very fresh. Overall, it's a hole in the wall, but you'd be hard pressed to find many restaurants with food this good at such reasonable prices. Pros: Great food, great service, solid value.
Great neighborhood destination!
I have gone to Gloria's almost once a week since moving to the area. They are the NICEST people, have great service, and great food! I tried their burrito once, and it was ok, but then we started trying their salvadorian food (and I got hooked on their awesome pupusas). Try something off their specials menu - especially their carne adobadas or their pupusas loroco, and you WON'T be dissapointed). Pros: Great service, great salvadorian food, reasonable prices Cons: gets crowded on weekends
Great mexican food, great enchiladas, great service, low prices
We went on a Saturday night and the food was very good. I loved the cheese enchiladas wuth green sauce and my husband loved the chicken enchiladas with red sauce. The refried beans were very tasty and as well as the rice. The servers were friendly and very accomodating. Very reasonable prices. Will definitely be coming back. A very good value for the money. Pros: excellent food, great service, fresh food Cons: kind of a dive atmosphere, but charming in it's way
excellent Salvadoran specials
this place is way too tasty. We have ordered take-out a few times and the food is ready fast, the people are friendly, and it's delicious. What we've loved is the carne adobado and the marinated chicken steak and the pupusas, of course. I can't comment on the restaurant atmosphere since we get takeout, but man, is that food good. Can't comment on the more tex-mex type dishes like enchiladas (I love that stuff, but the Californian versions taste weird to me) but their Salvadoran and chef specials sections are excellent. Pros: food
Excellent El Salvadorian
Went to Gloria's after reading the great reviews on Citysearch and took my wife who is from El Salvador. Just have to say that Gloria's is outstanding. The location may put you off (located next to a tire shop and the interior is ok (mismatched table cloths but nice wood decor) but once you get past those things the experience changes for the better. The customer service was so good that it felt like a family owned restaurant that really cared about you. We ordered a carne asada burrito, 2 pupusas & one tortilla soup (with chicken). I asked if they could bring two spoons for the soup so me and my wife could share and instead we were told by our server that he could bring us two bowls of the soup for no extra charge (so nice). The food was very tasty and my wife really liked the pupusas. We actually talked to the owner Gloria who spent 10 minutes telling us about the history of the restaurant (from their beginnings in Downtown L.A. to Hollywood and then to their current location on Venice). We will be coming back to this place and bringing more friends with us. Don't be put off by the surrounding businesses and don't blink or you might just pass by it. Pros: Great service and tasty food. Cons: Slightly more pricey than you would expect but the service and food is worth it.

Great food, great service and fair prices. Home made tamales! Great pupusas! Service with a smile! $8-11 per dish! Pros: One of the better Latino places around Cons: Interior could be nicer

great tamales de elote
i love this place for the soup and tamales . great salvadorean style !!! Pros: the sopa de 7 mares. tamales de elote Cons: pupusas
The whole enchilada...
""Hello, my friends, what can I get for you this evening,"" the server intones with a genuine smile. He's gentle, disarming and eager to ensure that every diner's evening at the Culver City Mexican/Salvadorian restaurant is a memorable experience. It's refreshing to see a family-owned-and-operated local business with such heart -- especially in a dingy strip mall on Venice Blvd. The personal service, however, is just one reason to stop in for a pitcher of sangria and order of pupusas. Gloria's offers more than warm smiles and knock-out pork and cheese (revuleta) pupusas. The rest of the expansive menu is just as compelling -- in particular the carne adobado and the epic sopa de 7 mares which truly is ""the king of soups."" The best part? One doesn't have to be a king to afford it. Pros: Pupusas, carnitas, affordable, service, sangria
Topnotch!
Had dinner here w/recent L.A. visit, after a Google search. From the outside, we probably would've never gone in but glad we did. Topnotch service, excellent food, friendly staff. If you're in L.A., eat @ Gloria's!
GREAT food!
After seeing a recent episode of Diners,Drive-ins and Dives while visiting California, we decided to go here to eat the next day while out sight-seeing. It was very busy and very crowded, if we had not seen it reviewed by Guy, we too may not have stopped......but don't let the location and size fool you. The food was great, the staff was wonderful, though very, very busy and once you are inside, it is very charming.
